2012 Emmys: Our Picks And Predictions
09/19/2012 - 17:00 ||
The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards officially blast off on Sunday, September 23, and we are showcasing our winning picks and predictions. While there aren’t many Latinos to root for this year, we thank Louis CK for breaking the record as one of the most nominated talents of the year.
The half-Mexican comedian nabbed seven nominations including, “Best Comedy Actor” and “Writing for a Comedy Series.” We can bet anything that the redheaded funny guy will beat-out Curb Your Enthusiasm’s Larry David and 30 Rock’s Alec Baldwin. The odds are totally in his favor so we think he is bound to walk away with at least one Emmy!
We also expect Christina Aguilera’s The Voice (soon to be Shakira’s) to win for “Best Reality Competition.” Sure, Dancing With The Stars had William Levy this year, but the half-Ecuadorian star’s on-air feud with Adam Levine should win her some Emmy points, no?
It has been Sofia Vergara’s year, so there’s no doubt she is delivering a bilingual acceptance speech for her “Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy” for her role as Gloria on Modern Family. The hit show was also nominated for “Best Comedy Series” so we hope they can beat out Veep and 30 Rock!
Yes, we are rooting for all of the Latino nominees. Can you blame us?
