SAG Awards: Sofia Vergara, Louis CK, and More Latinos Nominated!

We're so happy! The nominees for the 19th Annual SAG Awards for stellar performances in 2012 have been announced, and many Latinos were recognized for their achievements.

Sofia Vergara snagged two nominations for her role as the hilariously loud Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on ABC’s Modern Family.

The Colombian actress was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series and for the broader Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, which lists her fellow castmates.

Mexican-American comedian Louis C.K. was also nominated for his performance in FX’s Louie. In the comedy-drama (which the 45-year-old funny man directs, edits and produces himself), Louis C.K. plays a fictionalized version of himself – a comedian and divorced father of two adorable girls. The show has already received critical acclaim and regularly features notable guest stars, such as Bob Saget and Bobby Cannavale.

Speaking of Cannavale, the Cuban-American actor was nominated for his role as Boardwalk Empire’s gangster Gyp Rosetti for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, along with his fellow castmates.

Other notable Latinos who were nominated include the one and only Javier Bardem (are we surprised?... no) for his role in the film Skyfall, Glee’s Naya Rivera, and The Office’s favorite Latino Oscar Núñez, who plays our favorite (and openly gay) Dunder Mifflin accountant on the show.
