EXCLUSIVE: Paulina Garces Dishes On Her Show 'ReMexa,' Beauty Tips & More!

EXCLUSIVE: Paulina Garces

Who should we be looking out for on the Regional Mexican music scene?

I think Regional has finally become mainstream. There's new talent that already has a huge following like Noel Torres, Luis Coronel and El Daza.

What would you say is the best part of hosting a show like ReMexa?

To be able to connect with people and interview artists that I like and admire.

What is it about Regional Mexican music that makes you love it?

I didn't grow up with most of it. I fell in love with the people that sing it and the people that listen to it, because music is from the heart for the heart. Whether it's banda with very romantic lyrics, (really nothing like it) to Corridos which I think of as the Spanish rap -- which talks about the struggles of the people in life, in this country (far from the ones we love, dealing with survival in a foreign land) or struggles with love -- it's music about us.

Who is your favorite artist of all time?

You’re killing me! I can't answer that question. Impossible! [Laughs]

What do you think is the biggest misconception when it comes to Regional Mex music?

That it's music that only older people listen to. Regional Mexican music is more than music it's a lifestyle really.
