Our 5 Favorite Latino Werewolves

Get ready to hear some howling! MTV will premiere its new, highly anticipated series, Teen Wolf on Sunday night following the MTV Movie Awards. The new horror show, a dark re-imagining of the Michael J. Fox 1985 cult-movie of the same name, stars part-Mexican actor Tyler Posey as a high school student undergoing a very hairy metamorphosis.

Tyler's new role as a brooding teen werewolf got us thinking about our favorite Latino wolves on the big and small screen. From Michael Trevino to Victoria Justice, here are some of our favorite mythological shape-shifting creatures! (We must say — we're over the moon about all of them)!

1. Latin Werewolf Tyler Posey

Tyler Posey, 19

In the hot new series, Teen Wolf, Tyler Posey plays Scott McCall, a dorky high- school student whose life is turned upside down when he’s mysteriously attacked by a wolf in the middle of the night. Days later he finds that the wolf bite has miraculously granted him powers and strange abilities that improve his performance on the lacrosse team and get him a date with the gorgeous new girl at school. Of course, the new powers come at a price.

2. Latin Werewolves Michael Trevino

Michael Trevino, 26

In the hit CW series The Vampire Diaries, Mexican actor Michael Trevino stars as Tyler Lockwood, an athletic high school student with super-human strength (and a very short temper) who discovers that his family carries the wolf gene. Once Tyler transforms into a werewolf, he joins a wolf brethren keen on killing all of the vampires in Mystic Falls.

3. Latin Werewolf Victoria Justice

Victoria Justice, 18

Everyone knows that when you turn into a werewolf, you get really hairy — and for women, that’s no bueno! In the 2010 Nickelodeon movie of the week, The Boy Who Cried Werewolf, Puerto Rican actress Victoria Justice played Jordan Sands, a teenage girl whose transformation into a werewolf lead to personality changes but also body changes—like the arrival of really hairy legs! As you can imagine, Victoria does quite a bit of waxing in the movie!

4. Latin Werewolves Benicio del Toro

Benicio Del Toro, 44

In The Wolfman, a 2010 remake of the 1941 classic werewolf horror film of the same name, Benicio Del Toro played Lawrence Talbot, a world-renowned Shakespearean actor with a tortured past who becomes a mythic beast with sharp teeth and a penchant for violence and destruction.

5. Latin Werewolf Alex Meraz

Alex Meraz, 26

In the Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) and Twlight: Eclipse (2010), Mexicano Alex Meraz played Paul, a shapeshifter who is best friends with Jacob (Taylor Lautner). Why do we love him? The picture says it all!
