Reggaeton's duo dinámico, Wisin y Yandel, was the big winner at last night's Premios Juventud in Miami, scooping up four awards for "My Favorite Video," "CD to Die For," "Favorite Urban Artist" and a new category, "Favorite Ringtone" (when will English-language shows get smart enough to pick up this category?) It was a also a big night for Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin and Aventura, who followed WY closely with three awards each.
But like every past show, Premios Juventud is all about the performances--from the over-the-top stage sets to the surprise collabos. Aventura and Enrique Iglesias delivered on both counts. As Iglesias was just about done crooning his ballad, "Lloro Por Ti" to thousands of screaming fans, the bad boys of bachata joined him onstage for a hot duet that's sure to rachet up sales of their just-announced joint tour. Other performance highlights included the show-opener by RBD, who played right into Premios' earth-conscious green theme this year, and lifetime achievement award-winner Pedro Fernandez, who launched into a medley of classic ballads that had everyone in the live audience chanting along.
Of course, our favorite moment was the presentation of the "Diva" award, which was by won (who else?) Thalia. The Mexican singer looked gorgeous in an embroidered strapless dress that put younger divas in the crowd to shame. Click here for more of the best (and worst) dressed stars at Premios Juventud!
