ALBUM REVIEW: Wisin y Yandel Prove They Are Still Leading The Pack With 'Lideres'

After a 12-year career in the reggaeton game, Wisin y Yandel have set the standard for catchy dance tracks with universal appeal. Now their highly anticipated ninth studio album with Machete Music, Lideres, promises to satisfy their fans and newbie listeners alike with addictive tracks like, “Rumba,” which includes a hook that will leave you feeling like you’re in Rio de Janeiro for carnival.

The reggaetoneros, who were born Juan Luis Morera Luna (Wisin) and Llandel Veguilla Malavé (Yandel), manage to keep their authentic sound established with their Latin Grammy-winning album, Los Extraterrestres. The duo’s opening song, “Tu Nombre” offers a vaguely similar sound to their prior hit track, “Sexy Movimiento.” While their collaborative track with Chris Brown and T-Pain titled, “Algo Me Gusta De Ti” has a mainstream pop-dance-techno vibe that refreshes our musical palettes.

The hit duo may have dropped out of the J.Lo and Enrique Iglesias tour, but they are holding their ground as leaders in their genre. We can already picture Dominican video director, Jessy Terrero, selecting the backdrop for their latest music video.

Watch as the dynamic duo talk about their new album and what it means to be a real leader below:
