Will J.Lo’s “On the Floor” Go Through the Roof on iTunes?

Is J.Lo's new dance track "On the Floor" her next "Waiting for Tonight?" Lopez seems to be hoping that's the case.

Over the last week, the Puerto Rican singer (and American Idol judge) has been tweeting about the success of her new single  which is currently #5 on iTunes behind Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," Rihanna's "S & M," and Ke$sha's "Blow."

"Dreams happen!!!" tweeted Lopez. "We're knockin on #1's door!!! So grateful to all of you. Let's get it!" A few days later, J.Lo followed up with another tweet: "WOW! Already #1 in France, Sweden & Finland!! Thank u guys so much! Let's keep it goin & get it here at home too!!! :)"

Lopez's friends have also been tweeting about her new single. Radio personality Angie Martinez tweeted, "Wow!! Congrats @JLo !!! Kickin ass on idol AND itunes!#onthefloor, while Justin Bieber tweeted, "Gotta rep for home team. Everyone please support @jlo and her new single "On the Floor" on ITUNES!#hometeam." (J.Lo replied to the Bieb's and offered her congratulations on his success, too: "@justinbieber CONGRATS on having the #1 album in the country! First #1 remix album since mine. Long live The Biebs!!"

We'll know very soon if J.Lo's new single has what it takes to become her next hit, as Lopez plans to debut the video (which features Cuban rapper, Pitbull) on FOX's American Idol this Thursday. Lopez's seventh album, Love?, is due to be released on March 29 on Island Def Jam.

J.Lo's 2007 album "Brave" failed to chart any singles inside the top 30 on Billboard's Hot 100 and sold a mere 650,000 copies worldwide.
