1. Jason Derulo: Alyssa Bernal
Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, Alyssa’s got music in the blood: she grew up watching her dad play drums in a popular Tejano band. Making her mark by posting YouTube videos, she was discovered by Pharrell Williams and is now signed to Star Trak Entertainment. “I would describe my musical style as uplifting, because it makes you feel happy,” she says. “It’s the kind of music you can listen to in the car with the windows down.” Her first album, Love Hangover, was released in 2011. She is currently working on her second album.

2. Jason Derulo: Joey Montana
Born and raised in Panama, Joey won a radio contest in his home country, and has been working to reach his dream ever since. After splitting from the group The Factory, Montana released a solo album and has continued to record. His second album, Flow With Class, was released in 2010 with his single “Tus ojos no me ven,” rising in popularity. He describes his sound as Latin pop-urban. “It’s something new… you can dance, but my songs have [also] a message,” he says.

3. Jason Derulo: Maffio
Maffio moved to the U.S. from the Dominican Republic when he was three years old. He’s a self-taught musician and producer, who has an ear for catchy tunes. He produced the song “Mi Alma Se Muere” by Fuego featuring Pitbull and Omega, which hit big on the Billboard charts for Latin Rhythm and Tropical Airplay. “Everything about me is positive,” he says. “My music style has a lot of energy [and] it makes you dance.” He’ll be releasing his debut album, Mi Sonido, this July.
