Besides Lebron James, the Miami Heat have another reason to call themselves the hottest team in the NBA. The white-hot team, which beat the Dallas Mavericks 92-84 during Game One of the NBA Finals Tuesday night, got an extra boost during halftime, when Miami's own Gloria Estefan unveiled a Heat tribute video featuring a special performance of her new single “Wepa!” The song, which is the first taste of Gloria’s upcoming dance album Miss Little Havana (due late summer) was produced by Pharrell Williams and co-written among Gloria, Pharrell, and hubby Emilio Estefan.
Though we weren’t physically there, we now have the full video, via FitPerez. The promo video, which features some of the most memorable plays of the season by the team, will be played at the American Airlines Arena during all Miami Heat home games as part of the finals (catch the next one tonight).
Upon watching the video on repeat, these are our thoughts in order: A) we now have our official anthem to summer; B) Gloria looks amazing; and C) we cannot wait for Miss Little Havana!
Gloria’s rep tells us that the song will likely be released to radio within the next week or so, and Gloria herself tells us that the song will be remixed a few times.
See if you can spot Emilio playing some instruments circa minute 1:25!
