Calle 13 is standing up against global gun violence in their latest single, “La Bala” off of their fourth studio album, Entren Los Que Quieran. The proactive video directed by Simon Brand depicts the dangerous domino effect weapons can create in communities everywhere. Nine videographers from countries ranging from Argentina to Mexico also took part in the project in a joint venture for UNICEF.
“The song is the result of my frustration with some individuals who devalue life. It’s a narrative that’s real and precise about the tragedy a bullet can cause,” said Residente in a Sony Music press release.
The Puerto Rican duo previously won nine Latin Grammys for their 2010 compilation, including “Album of the Year.” They are currently in tour and performing in Mexico next month.
