We spent the first night of the Latin Grammys running around between parties, events and red carpets, trying to shove our camera in the faces of as many celebrities as we could, and keep our balance despite a constant supply of free Heinekens. So when pop/R&B sensations Frankie J and Paula DeAnda gave us the opportunity to chill out for a minute in the back of their tour bus, we just couldn't say no.
We would have been happy just to have a place to kick up our tired feet for a few minutes, but we got way more than that. Ever the gracious host, Frankie treated us to a little impromptu a capella performance of his unreleased new single, "Con La Mirada Que Me Das," a Spanish cover of the Jonas Brothers hit "When You Look Me In the Eye." Needless to say, we're a little bit more in love with Frankie J now than ever before. Lucky for you, we caught the whole thing on video, including Frankie's thoughts on love, music, food and his renewed friendship with his estranged Kumbia Kings partner (and Selena's brother) AB Quintanilla.
Paula couldn't sing for us because the deceptively chilly Houston weather got the better of her famous voice, and she was hoarse as a horse (a very sexy sound, if you ask us). But the Corpus Christi native looked like a million bucks in a daring red dress so we got her to spill her beauty secrets and pre-show rituals.
Paula and Frankie are currently collaborating on a track for Paula's upcoming album and they promised us the exclusive first-listen when it's done, so be on the look-out!
