All eyes will be on Puerto Rico tonight when the 2010 Billboard Latin Music Awards is broadcast from San Juan on the Telemundo Network to more than 200 million people directly. And it's about time the ceremony, now in its 21st year, shows some love to the musical island.
Performers include Luis Fonsi, Paulina Rubio, Juan Luis Guerra, Nelly Furtado, Wyclef Jean, Wisin y Yandel, Ivy Queen, Cypress Hill, Milly Quezada, Marco Antonio Solís, Chayanne, Tito “El Bambino,” Pitbull, Daddy Yankee, David Bisbal, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Espinoza Paz, Joan Sebastian and Marc Anthony, who will receive Billboard’s Spirit of Hope award for his humanitarian work.
The show determines winners based on Billboard’s sales charts and radio airplay, not a panel of judges. Leading the count with the most nominations is Tito "El Bambino" with a total of 18, including Latin Artist of the Year and Hot Latin Song of the Year for"“El Amor." And up for Crossover Artist of the Year are The Black Eyed Peas, Flo Rida, Lady GaGa and Alicia Keys.
Who's got the goods? Watch tonight at 7 p.m. ET on Telemundo.
