Reggaeton royalty Ivy Queen has nabbed a record deal with Machete Music, the urban imprint of Universal Music Group, and is already prepping her upcoming disc Drama Queen, which is slated for release this summer.
The new album is said to be “a collection of original songs full of intense feelings and messages that show the passionate heart of the artist.” Hmm, our curiosity has been piqued. So far we know that “La Caballota” is doing collabos with Franco El Gorila, Jadiel, De La Ghetto, Frank Reyes and Wisin y Yandel. She’s also enlisted urban producers like Tainy, DJ Blas and Lenny of Aventura.
The Puerto Rican singer is excited about this new stage in her 15-year career. “[Machete] is a young and vibrant company,” she has said. And according to Walter Kolm, the label’s president, the feeling is mutual: "Ivy is an extraordinary woman with an incomparable talent and is number one in its genre. We are thrilled to work with her on her new album and his future projects."
