It must feel good to be Shakira and Prince Royce.
People en Español is reporting that the Colombian superstar and bachata newcomer have snagged multiple nominations for next year’s Premio Lo Nuestro. The announcement was made yesterday on Univision’s El Gordo y la Flaca.
34-year-old Shakira has six nominations, which include Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for her hit song “Rabiosa,” which features none other than our main man Pitbull. We are not surprised at all that of all Shakira songs, the one nominated is one with Mr. 305. The suave Miami-based rapper is known for dominating the charts with his endless musical collaborations – this summer we even listed our favorite ones.
We are also not surprised that Shakira won that many nominations; she was, after all, named the Person of the Year at this year’s Latin Grammys. Shaki wasn’t the only one with the most nominations however; Boricua artist Tito “El Bambino” also has six.
As for Prince Royce’s nominations at Premio Lo Nuestro, People en Español reports that the 22-year-old earned five. Other nominees include Mexican pop rock band Maná, Puerto Rican superstar Ricky Martin, and his compatriots, reggaetoneros Wisin y Yandel.
Premio Lo Nuestro is set to take place in Miami on Feb. 16, 2012.
Congrats to the nominees!
