Romeo Santos on One of His Idols: “Juan Luis Guerra Has Been an Influence For All Latin Artists”

Romeo Santos continues on his quest to making bachata music a mainstream phenomenon.

The Dominican and Puerto Rican singer made countless of fans swoon during his live concert at the American Airlines Arena in Miami. The Formula Vol. 1 singer also proved to have all of the winning ingredients during his performance of "All Aboard" on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Tuesday night.

Santos debut solo album has been the number one selling Latin album for 12 consecutive weeks and three of his singles have topped Billboard's Latin Songs chart including his collaboration with Usher, "Promise." The bachatero also holds ten Billboard Latin Music Award nominations including, "Artist of the Year," "Album of the Year," and "Tropical Song of the Year" for his track "You."

The singer from New York admits that his success wouldn't be possible without the great Juan Luis Guerra, who is releasing his new album "Coleccion Cristiana" on Tuesday. The legendary Dominican singer paved the way in the bachata genre and has sold over 30 million album copies worldwide. Santos revealed to the Miami Herald, "Juan Luis [Guerra] has been an influence for all Latin artists…but I dare to say that Aventura brought youth to the genre.”
