Rocsi's Inside Track: Latinos Need to Play A Bigger Role at the Grammys

If it wasn't for the energetic and vibrant performance by Bruno Mars, and the quick presentation appearances from Marc Anthony and NY Giant Victor Cruz, Latinos were pretty much unseen at the 2012 Grammys.

Before the televised portion of the Grammys even started, winners of the Latin categories of the night got to celebrate on their own, I'm assuming, because their wins were unseen by us. Let’s shed some light on the following winners! Maná’s “Drama Y Luz” album won for “Latin Pop, Rock or Urban Album of the Year,” Pepe Aguilar’s “Bicentenario” won for “Regional Mexican or Tejano Album,” and Los Tigres Del Norte won for “Best Band or Norteño Album” and the late Cachao won “Best Tropical Album” for “The Last Mambo.”

Many of these artists are multiple Grammy winners, which I'm sure would voice their appreciation given the opportunity. Here’s to making sure Latinos are represented in the next Grammy awards!

What do you think about the Latino absence at the Grammys this year?
