Ricky Martin and Pitbull are no strangers to hitting the pop music charts!
The Puerto Rican pop star and Cuban American rapper have hit the Billboard 200 list, which highlights the top-selling albums by Nielsen SoundScan’s sales statistics. Our February cover model claimed the number three spot on the list for his latest album “Música + Alma + Sexo.”
The hit album, responsible for addictive tracks like “The Best Thing About Me Is You” featuring Joss Stone and “Más,” spent a total of six weeks on the charts. The production was also Martin’s first studio album in nearly six years and became the highest Billboard 200 debut for his label Sony Music Latin.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Mr. 305’s hit album “Planet Pit” also made the cut with an impressive thirty-two weeks on the Billboard 200. The Miami-bred star’s single “International Love” featuring Chris Brown jumped to the number ten spot on the list. His single featuring Ne-Yo, "Give Me Everything" also dominated the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot 100. As we recently reported, Pitbull is set to receive the President's Award at the 19th annual BMI Latin Music Awards on March 31st in Las Vegas.
Ricky Martin and Pitbull may be veteran solo artists, but Romeo Santos is proving that newcomers also have their spot on the charts. His debut album, “Formula, Vol. 1” has been on the charts for twelve weeks in a row. In an interview with Billboard, the bachatero reveals, “There really isn’t a formula for success.”
We think that’s true as long as you start with the right ingredients.
