Mariah Carey Gets Back Together with Her Ex...Label

We believe change is good, especially when it means returning to the origin of your success. We hope this is true for Mariah Carey, who is set to return to Sony – the label that launched her debut in 1990 – after she completes one last album in her current contract with Universal Music Group.

Believed to be released by the end of the year, the album will be the end of a nearly decade long relationship with the music label that produced successful albums like The Emancipation of Mimi (2005). 

But we have much to look forward to in the next year, as Mariah returns to the company she left in 2000, nearly two years after her divorce from Sony’s then chief executive Tommy Mottola.
