The Norteño band Los Tigres del Norte have been going strong for decades and have amassed millions of albums sales and fans over the years.

Among those fans are Juanes, Zack de la Rocha and Calle 13, who have all signed on to appear in Los Tigres Unplugged special for MTV. It makes sense that these politically inclined musicos love Los Tigres, long seen as "the voice of the people."

As Juanes told MTV, “Los Tigres are the rock of the culture. It’s an honor to join them for this Unplugged. I love their music, attitude and career.”

Los Tigres said, “We are looking forward to the opportunity to revisit many special moments in our career, while also creating new interpretations with a wide array of special guests.”

The special will be taped in early 2011 and air shortly thereafter. Be sure to check blogamole.tr3s.com for more info.

Mariela Rosario,

I'm a raging opinionista and I love to share my ramblings on everything from pop culture to food to stuff that makes me laugh & cry! I've worked in all types of media (TV, film, print) and was previously the online editor at Latina magazine before joining Mamás Latinas. On most nights you can find me working my way through my library of cookbooks or playing with my puppy Lola (my only child so far). I have a wonderful hubby who shares my passion for any and all kinds of travel. Together, we've formed a semi-professional wine drinking team.
