Juanes to Reinvent His Sound for New Album in 2010

Juanes is getting ready to be a new Dad again, but that doesn't mean he's going to quit making music. The Colombian pop star spoke to Notimex while performing at the Viña Del Mar festival in Chile and revealed that he has already started writing new material for his upcoming album, which he plans to release in 2010. Better still, he says the record will represent a new direction in his recording career:
"The imagination is infinite, so a person should not put up a barrier and say, "I have nothing left to do.' I think there is much left to be done, a great deal."
It remains to be seen how Juanes's artistic revolution will manifest, but the singer did indicate that he may incorporate a few English lyrics this time around. "I don't intend to make an album in English," says Juanes, "or a full 'crossover,' but perhaps a couple of English phrases on one song." Sounds good to us!
Juanes also expressed his desire to spearhead a concert in Mexico, much like the one he organized at the Colombia-Venezuela-Ecuador border, to express unified opposition to the drug-fueled violence sweeping the country. Now that's something we'd really like to see happen.
