Juanes Recording First Ever Live Album for MTV Unplugged!

Talk about a dream team! Juanes is set to record an MTV Unplugged album and, according to Univision, the Colombian rocker will be under the leadership of none other than legendary Dominican singer/songwriter Juan Luis Guerra. Guerra is set to serve as Juanes’ musical director for the album, which will be shot and recorded in February next year.

In an interview with Univision, 39-year-old Juanes said he feels like he’s in the “best part” of his life. “At first I’m going to come out with a live album in the next year, which is something I’ve never done, so I’m excited about that,” he said. “It will have a few new songs and then down the road I’ll record the new studio album.”

Tr3s is reporting that Juanes’ MTV Unplugged album will take place at Miami’s New World Center and feature new interpretations of the rocker’s classic songs. As for the singer’s special guests during the special, no names have been dropped yet.

Of their collaboration, Guerra said the Unplugged stage will be the perfect space to discover Juanes’ music. “Juanes’ vocals and performances are better than ever,” the dominicano said.
