Juanes is making history—yet again! Our favorite Colombian rocker is the subject of the first-ever, Spanish language Facebook Live interview.
The proud father of three has been super busy these days, rehearsing for the U.S. leg of his P.A.R.C.E arena tour, which kicks off in Seattle March 10th. Still, he’ll be popping into the FB offices in Palo Alto to participate in the live-streamed interview series, joining the ranks of former guests Bill Gates, Bono, Tony Blair, Paulo Coelho, Tina Brown, and other notables. The interviewer is usually someone high-ranking at the company (i.e. Randi Zuckerberg, Mark’s sis and FB’s director of marketing) and interviewees are typically global influencers such as heads of state, leaders from the business and tech sectors, and socially engaged entertainers. At the end of the interview, people can submit their own questions.
It’s no coincidence Juanes is the chosen artist to be interviewed in Spanish first via FB Live. He transcends language barriers (remember his performance atop a pirate ship for the televised Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade last year, where he served some 60 million viewers with his music en español?)
Add to that his social media savvy, which has earned him some 2.6 million friends on FB, and 1.9 million followers on Twitter—record numbers for an artist who sings only in Spanish— and he’s the only logical pick.
The interview will go down on Monday, Feb. 28th at 6 p.m. EST (3 p.m. PST). Visit the event page on FB to RSVP!
