Half-Mexican season 10 American Idol contestant Stefano Langone has just been signed to Hollywood Records! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Langone is the latest Latino artist to sign with the label, joining part-Mexican songstresses Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato.
“I feel blessed to have gotten this opportunity with Hollywood Records,” Langone said in a statement. “It thin it is a great fit for me and I’m so excited and hungry for what’s to come.”
As Idol judge Jennifer Lopez’s favorite last season, he is also the latest Idol alum to sign a recording contract. Part-Puerto Rican winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina are both signed to Universal Music Group’s Mercury Nashville, Pia Toscano and Haley Reinhart signed to Interscope, James Durbin released his debut album on Wind-Up Records, and most recently, Casey Abrams signed with jazz label Concord Music Group.
23 year-old Langone was wheelchair-bound for months after being involved in a near-fatal car crash in 2009. He tweeted on the day the contract went public, “Today is a good day.”
