Fergie Puts Solo Career on Hold: "I'm All About Black Eyed Peas Right Now"

Despite the massive success of Fergie's 2006 solo album, The Dutchess, the lead singer of the Black Eyed Peas says she’s committed to the group and isn’t planning to pursue a solo career anytime soon.

"Definitely, in my lifetime, [but] not in the near future, no," she told reporters at the Glamour Women of The Year Event in New York City last week.

The group’s new album, The Beginning, is due out Nov. 30 and Fergie gave reporters an idea of what they can expect to hear when it drops.

"You should expect deeper, a little bit darker electro beats and a little bit more of relationship issues on this one," she dished. "A lot of funny stuff, as well,” added the Dutchess.

The Black Eyed Peas have already released the album’s first single, "The Time (Dirty Brit)" a techno dance track that pays homage to the iconic theme song from the movie, Dirty Dancing.

"For some reason that song, 'I've Had The Time of My Life' kind of meant something to us, because we have had an amazing run," explains Fergie. "I mean, it just keeps going, and it keeps going. And we really feel like we have had the time of our lives together.”
