Looks like the new year is off to a great start for Kat DeLuna! The Dominican pop singer, who left Epic Records last October, reveals exclusively to Latina.com that she has found another major label to call home--Universal Motown--and will drop a new single featuring rapper Lil Wayne
in the first quarter of 2009. "The song is a smash," says DeLuna, and
in this video posted on YouTube after her New Year's Eve show in Moscow , the singer adds that the single's sound is
"a little bit different...but crazy." We'll take that to mean a very
good thing.
DeLuna is now under the wing of Universal Motown's Executive VP, Sylvia Rhone, who's shepherded the careers of groundbreaking female artists like Missy Elliott and En Vogue.
And judging by these exclusive shots from her video shoot with Weezy,
the now-21-year-old starlet is going for a much more grownup, high
fashion look than that of her debut album, Nine Lives. Expect her musical makeover to be just as fierce!
