Nominees for the 22nd Annual Billboard Latin Music Awards were announced yesterday and leading the way with double-digit nominations were two of the music industry's biggest Latin pop stars: Enrique Iglesias and Shakira.
Enrique is up for 14 awards, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year (for Euphoria). Shaki scored 13 nominations including Latin Album of the Year for Sale el Sol and Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Female.
The Mexican pop trio, Camila and Dominican bachatero Juan Luis Guerra each received 10 nominations respectively. Camila, who released their sophomore album, Dejarte de Amar this year, scored two big nominations for Artist of the Year and Album of the Year, while Guerra is up for Hot Latin Song of the Year, and Tropical Album of the Year for his Latin-Grammy winning album, "A Son De Guerra."
Vying for a win in the New Latin Artist of the Year category are newcomers, Chino y Nacho (nominated for nine awards) pop sensation, Prince Royce (nominated for six awards), Banda Los Recoditos (nominated for 4 awards) and Voz de Mando.
And finally, nominees for Songwriter of the Year include popular stars like Anthony “Romeo” Santos of Aventura, and Daddy Yankee, along with Horacio Palencia Cisneros and Mexican singer/songwriter Espinoza Paz.
