Two unlikely friends have banded together to create music that targets censorship, media manipulation, and the concealment of information.

Calle 13 has released their first song in nearly four years. The single, called "Multi_Viral", is a collaboration between Calle 13, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, guitarist Tom Morello, and Palestinian singer-songwriter Kamilya Jubran.

The concept of the song emerged last June when Calle 13's frontman, Residente, met with Assange, at the Embassy of Ecuador in London. Through a Twitcam, they proposed a collaboration to their fans. That very same day, they began to receive thousands of emails, from which they selected words and phrases which fueled the creative process.

Residente, whose real name is René Pérez Joglar, said, "It was like a puzzle...similar to what happens when one writes, you have all the words in your head and you build what you want, but this time I was actually seeing the words."
