It's been a great week for Bruno Mars! The half-Puerto Rican singer/songwriter received a bunch of MTV Europe Music Award nominations, and then got tapped to include the song, "It Will Rain," on the soundtrack of what will definitely be one of the biggest movies of the year, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 1.

"After seeing the movie, I thought that it would be a perfect fit," Mars told Billboard about the song, which will be released as the lead single off the soundtrack (available November 8th). "The 'Twilight' movies for me [are] a love story. But it's a dark love story," he added. "And I think the best way to describe the song is: It's the darker side of love. I think that pretty much sums it up."

Mars, who says with a wink that he is firmly "Team Bella," sat down with his guitar and wrote the song immediately after watching an unfinished version of Breaking Dawn. "I just had this melody in my head and basically laid it down after I saw the film," he said.

Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 1 is set to hit theaters November 18th.
