Puerto Rican artists Alexis y Fido dropped their new single Alocate in an attempt to step away from the “perreo” the pair is famous for.
The duo, dubbed “Los Reyes del Perreo”, told Fox News Latino they wanted to try something different with their music, while still retaining their reggaeton roots.
“It has soca, the trumpets of merengue, a little bit of what we are known for as ‘Los Reyes del Perreo’ -- it’s very different,” said Fido. “It’s for people that like to do zumba or for when they go dancing.”
Their new album La Esencia, which was produced by Mad Music and Latin Grammy award-winning producer Luny Tunes, will be released later this year. The first single, “Rompe La Cintura” rose to the top of the Billboard rankings.
