Salma Hayek is teaming up with Spanish comedian Jose Mota to make a new satirical film called La Chispa de la Vida.

It's a movie that was originally written in English by Randy Feldman (Tango & Cash) and developed for the U.S. market. But Andres Vicente Gomez is producing the film for Madrid-based Al Fresco Enterprises and tapping into Spanish tax breaks.

After only 30 previews and 69 performances, Pedro Almodovar's Broadway adaptation of his Oscar-nominated movie Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown will be closing on January 2nd.

Cuba is producing its first big-budget horror movie! Writer-director Alejandro Brugues talked to CNN about the zombie comedy, in which hero Juan, an unemployed loafer, has to decide to flee the zombies or make money off them. While it may be a zombie movie, Brugues tells CNN it is a very Cuban movie as well. "We always do the same thing in the face of trouble. First we try to make some money out of it. Then we try to leave the country. And that's what our heroes do throughout the film."

It probably had something to do with the fact that their movie received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. MTV Tr3s Blogamole was on the red carpet and asked the director how it felt: "[It] was fantastic!" said Iñárritu. "It was really great news!
