EXCLUSIVE: Yul Vazquez Talks Movie 'Runner, Runner' And Cuban Heritage

Let’s talk about Latino traditions in your everyday life. Do you have a favorite food?

I do! Bachas fritas. My mother used to make it. She had a special way of making it; really amazing. I tell you what else I like: picadillo, ground beef with tomato sauce and olives. It’s very creole, traditional Cuban dish. I put my own health-conscious 2013 spin on it. I make it with turkey breast instead of with beef. It’s full of protein and vitamins.

What comes next for you?

I’m doing a movie called Captain Phillips which opens on October 11!

Any last words for our Latina.com readers?

You guys are awesome!

Check out Runner, Runner in theaters now!
