The news is grim for Cameron Diaz's horror flick The Box, which debuted at number six at the box office this weekend, earning a total of $7.8 million. The film—directed by Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko) and also starring Frank Langella and James Marsden—cost over $25 million to make. Audiences and critics showed little to no interest in this adaption of a Richard Matheson short story.
We remember when the Twilight Zone also adapted Matheson's story for their episode Button, Button, which originally aired in 1985. It's one of the few stories from the newer, colored version of Twilight Zone that we actually can recall. If you've never seen it, check it out below.
Then tell us if you went to see The Box this weekend. If so, what did you think of it? And if you didn't go, what kept you away?
