WATCH: Javier Bardem Thinks he has a Chance at an Oscar for "Biutiful"

We caught up with Javier Bardem at the NYC red carpet premiere of his moving new film Biutiful. The Spanish actor seems to be feeling pretty good about his chances at an Oscar nod for his role as Uxbal, a dying father trying to raise his kids in the slums of Barcelona.

The film, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, is an intense meditation on fatherhood, legacy and community and we have to say, we wouldn't bet against Bardem receiving a Best Actor nomination either. After all, he did take home the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.

Watch what Javier has to say about the possibility of receiving a Best Actor nomination from the Academy for a Spanish language film:

Mariela Rosario,

I'm a raging opinionista and I love to share my ramblings on everything from pop culture to food to stuff that makes me laugh & cry! I've worked in all types of media (TV, film, print) and was previously the online editor at Latina magazine before joining Mamás Latinas. On most nights you can find me working my way through my library of cookbooks or playing with my puppy Lola (my only child so far). I have a wonderful hubby who shares my passion for any and all kinds of travel. Together, we've formed a semi-professional wine drinking team.
