SEX AND THE CITY: THE MOVIE

Starring: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Chris Noth and Jennifer Hudson
Opens: May 30

"Real life," as Carrie has pointed out before, "always has a twist." So don't assume a fairy tale ending means the story's over. Will Big (aka John James Preston) flake out at the altar? Does Charlotte get pregnant? After four long years, we finally find out what happens, so grab your girls and kiss Cashmere Mafia goodbye—at least for now.

Read our review of Sex and the City and then see what the series would look like with an all-Latina cast!

YOU DON'T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN

Starring: Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, Emanuelle Chiriqui and Mariah Carey
Opens: June 6

Sandler stars in this comedy, co-written with Hollywood golden boy Judd Apatow (Superbad, Knocked Up), as an Israeli commando who fakes his own death just so he can become a New York City hairstylist. All that, plus a cameo by M.C. as her nutty self? We're there.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK

Starring: Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, Robert Downey Jr. and Tim Roth
Opens: June 13

He might not be boyfriend material, but the Hulk still has feelings. That's why we're rushing to see the superhero who flopped five years ago, especially if Norton rewrote the script to humanize the beast he portrays though a series of flashbacks and revelations.

4. Summer Movie Guide 4

THE HAPPENING

Starring: Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel and John Leguizamo
Opens: June 13

Can director M. Night Shyamalan—who followed up The Sixth Sense with duds like The Village and Lady in the Water—win back his jaded fans? Casting Wahlberg as a heroic schoolteacher searching for clues to an apocalyptic disaster and Leguizamo as a loving father fleeing the plague is as good a start as any.

5. Summer Movie Guide 5

GET SMART

Starring: Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
Opens: June 20

The perfect goofy summer movie. As a member of the U.S. spy agency Control, Carell unexpectedly partners with the chic but lethal Agent 99 (Hathaway) to stop the evil crime syndicate KAOS in their plot for world domination.

6. Summer Movie Guide 6

THE LOVE GURU

Starring: Mike Myers, Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake
Opens: June 20

After spending seven years Shrek-ing it up in the animated world, Myers is back in the flesh as Pitka, an American raised by Indian gurus. His accent and twirly beard are enough to get us in the door, but the bonus is Alba as a hockey team owner who hires Pitka to save her star player's marriage.

WANTED

Starring: Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman
Opens: June 27

In this visually stunning thriller (Curving bullets! Car collisions in mid-air! Train-top chases!), Jolie plays Fox, a member of a secret brand of assassins called the Fraternity. But new recruit Wes (McAvoy) isn't entirely convinced whose side he's really on.

8. Summer Movie Guide 8

HANCOCK

Starring: Will Smith, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman
Opens: July 2

Smith hasn't cracked a smile in two flicks (I Am Legend, The Pursuit of Happyness)—but finally he's back in a comedic role, as a careless but misunderstood Los Angeles superhero who hires a PR agent (Juno's Bateman) to help revamp his image.

9. Summer Movie Guide 9

HELLBOY II

Starring: Ron Perlman, Selma Blair and Doug Jones
Opens: July 11

The cat-loving hero from hell is back! Director Guillermo del Toro combines a good story—though rejected by humans, Hellboy must save them from mythical creatures who seek to rule the earth—with even better special effects. Let's just say Del Toro's monster in Pan's Labyrinth was a warm-up.

10. Summer Movie Guide 10

MAMMA MIA!

Starring: Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan and Juan Pablo Di Pace
Opens: July 18

This year's Hairspray? In this chick-flick fantasy (based on the hit show inspired by the music of ABBA), a girl invites three of her mom's former lovers to her wedding on a Greek island in hopes of finding out which one is her father. Big dance numbers and fluffy goodness ensue.

THE DARK KNIGHT

Starring: Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Morgan Freeman, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Nestor Carbonell
Opens: July 18

Bale is back as Gotham City's enigmatic vigilante in the follow-up to the epic Batman Begins, but this time he battles a far more sinister villian—the Joker. Ledger's portrayal of Batman's arch-nemesis (previously portrayed by Jack Nicholson) will chill your bones—and not just because it's one of the late actor's last roles.

12. Summer Movie Guide 12

 PINEAPPLE EXPRESS

Starring: Seth Rogen, James Franco and Rosie Perez
Opens: August 8

Here's something you haven't seen in...a few months. Rogen playing a pothead—this time, one who's fond of a rare breed called Pineapple Express. Somewhere along the way, he witnesses a murder and gets chased by mafiosos and Perez as a crooked cop. Puff, puff, pass.

SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS 2

Starring: America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel, Blake Lively and Amber Tamblyn
Opens: August 8

Did we really need a sequel to the story about four girls who miraculously fit into the same pair of jeans? Sure, especially if there's plenty of breakups, makeups and the occasional loss of virginity as the BFFs embark on their last summer vacation together before going away to college.
