Selena Gomez is a “hot mess.” We are totally kidding (of course!) – but our cover girl is reportedly set to star in a comedy with the same title. According to Deadline, the part-Mexican actress/singer is currently in talks with Tony-winning director James D. Stern to star in the comedy.
The website reports that Hot Mess centers on four girls who, against all odds, try to avoid turning into the hot messes they’re destined to be. This doesn’t sound at all like our Selenita, but we’re sure she can pull it off. The teenage star recently portrayed a grittier version of herself in a promo video for the MTV Europe Music Awards, which she’s set to host on Nov. 6. In the video, Gomez’s doorknocker earrings and rude attitude took us by surprise but reminded us know that she definitely can play someone out of character.
Hot Mess may be directed by Dave Meyers, a music video director who has worked with heavyweights such as Boricua superstar Jennifer Lopez, pop star Britney Spears, and singer Pink.
