Salma Hayek: "It's a Good Thing to Be a 41-Year-Old Latina Woman in America"

"I'm 41 now," Salma Hayek said to the crowd of Hollywood's most powerful women at Tuesday's Women in Film
Crystal+Lucy Awards. "And I have to say, it is the best time in my
life." Eva Mendes and Jada Pinkett Smith (who shouted out "You look good!" and "I love you, Salma!" during her speech) were amongst those honoring Salma for her contributions as an actress, producer and humanitarian.

Salma, who has transitioned from big screen sexpot into (almost) wife, mother and power player, claims that only lately has she come into her own. "I have learned to enjoy time to be a woman. I have learned to enjoy how to do the most that I can with what I have," the Ugly Betty producer explained. Her trick to balancing work and family life? "I delegate a lot more," she told People magazine. "I'm very lucky because I have great people around me."

Salma capped off her inspiring acceptance speech with a phrase that resonates especially with us: "It is a good thing to be a 41-year-old Latina woman in America."

Amen, Salma!
