Salma Hayek and Jessica Biel are 'Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown'

Word has leaked that megawatt stars Salma Hayek and Jessica Biel were recently in NYC to read for parts in a theatrical adaptation of Pedro Almodovar's hit 1988 Spanish comedy, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

The women were part of a closed reading the Lincoln Center Theater, which is reportedly developing the film into a musical. Hayek's casting would most certainly generate a lot of buzz for the show. Perhaps this is what she and Almodovar were discussing so intensely at the NY premiere of Broken Embraces last week? Biel recently starred in the film Easy Virtue and the musical Guys and Dolls at the Hollywood Bowl, both of which gave her a chance to showcase her singing chops. As if we needed another reason to be excited about the cast, Argentinean actress Mia Maestro also performed at the reading.

Needless to say, we're hotly anticipating this show is going to be great and hopefully, we won't have to wait that long to see it. Rumor has it that the musical could hit the Big White Way as early as next spring!
