11 Movies to Get You in the Holiday Spirit!

"Oh, there’s no place like home for the holidays..." especially when you have a cup of hot chocolate and a holiday movie to watch! But sometimes we're left wondering, where are all the Latino actors?! Feel the same way? We've got you covered.

Francia Raisa, star of Secret Life of the American Teen and the daughter of radio personality “El Cucuy," is bringing some cheer to our holiday favorites with her new movie, Christmas Bounty. The film premieres Nov. 26 on ABC Family.

But she's not the only Latino to star in some feel-good holiday flicks. From Christmas Bounty to Charlie Brown Christmas to Love Actually, here are some holiday favorites starring Latinos:

A Charlie Brown Christmas:

Never heard of Bill Melendez? The Mexican-American was an animator, film director, and voice actor...and the only man Charles M. Schulz trusted to turn the popular comic Peanuts into a TV special. Melendez and his studio worked on every single Charlie Brown television special, including the iconic A Charlie Brown Christmas. More fun facts? Melendez also provided the voices of Snoopy and Woodstock! Snuggle in with your family, some hot cocoa, and a bowl of popcorn and watch this heartwarming flick on Christmas Eve.

Nothing Like the Holidays:

What would happen if your familia was celebrating together for the last time? Probably a lot of food, a lot of shouting, and  maybe a tear or two. That’s exactly what happens to one Puerto Rican family in Nothing Like The Holidays. The flick features Latino actors John Leguizamo, Freddy Rodriguez, Elizabeth Peña, Luis Guzmán, Jay Hernandez, and Melonie Diaz.

Love Actually

This adorable British movie is a must-watch every Christmas season. It’s a comedy and romance that leaves everyone feeling warm and fuzzy inside after watching. Plus, we can’t help but cry from laughter every time we watch Hugh Grant’s infamous dance to “Jump For My Love.” But, if we’re being really honest, the reason we watch it year after year is to see Rodrigo Santoro’s gratuitous shirtless scene...

The Holiday:

This Christmas romance is the perfect mix of humor and sex appeal (It stars Jack Black and Jude Law). Best of all, Cameron Diaz stars as Amanda Woods, a workaholic who decides to escape a failing relationship...and ends up falling in love in a magical, snowy English town! We recommend grabbing a bottle of wine and a few girlfriends and watching this one a cold, snowy day.

Arthur Christmas

Eva Longoria lent her voice to this animated Christmas flick about Arthur Christmas, the clumsy son of Santa Claus, who goes on a journey to deliver one girl’s missing present. This heart-warming movie is a romp for the entire family.

Holiday In Handcuffs:

Crime? Comedy? Mario Lopez? Yep, we’re already hooked. This ABC Family movie was the networks highest-rated telecast of all time, and it’s easy to see why: it’s a light-hearted rom-com that everyone will enjoy.

Christmas Cupid

Sometimes, you just want to watch a movie that’s so bad it’s good. Luckily, Christmas Cupid, starring Christina Milian, Chad Michael Murray, and Ashley Benson, is available on Netflix streaming. The ABC Family movie is a modern spin on Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol, and hey, we hate to admit it, but we actually enjoyed it.

This Christmas

This comedy centers on the Whitfield family during their first holiday together in four years. The all-star cast includes Laz Alonso and Lupe Ontiveros

A Very Harold And Kumar 3D Christmas:

If you’re looking for something funny, raunchy, and irreverent to kick-off the holiday season, Harold and Kumar have got you covered. Danny Trejo appears as Mr. Perez, but the real kicker? Paula Garces, who plays Harold’s wife, shows off her rockin’ body in a teeny tiny Santa Clause inspired lingerie set.

Dear Secret Santa:

A Beverly Hills banker, played by Tatyana Ali, travels home to her small California town for Christmas. Suddenly, she begins receiving romantic Christmas cards from her neighbor, Jack. Just one problem: Jack has been dead three years. Catch the new movie on Lifetime this holiday season.

The Christmas Hope:

This beautiful film tells the story of a social worker, Madeleine Stowe, whose college-aged son was killed in a car accident. When she encounters an adorable child who needs a family, Stowe brings her home for the holidays. Have a box of tissues handy -- you’ll need them to enjoy this sentimental flick.
