The stars were out in full force on Tuesday to celebrate the premiere of Pierre Morel's Peppermint. Talent included Jennifer Garner, John Ortiz, Juan Pablo Raba, and Annie Ilonzeh.
Garner stars as wife and mother Riley North who seeks revenge against a cartel who murdered those closest to her.
There's good reason Riley has been compared to Sydney Bristow, the Alias role that put the Houston native on the map. They're both strong women that you'll never see quiver while standing up against injustice.
Ortiz, known for his work in Silver Linings Playbook and Rake, plays Detective Moises Beltran. Beltran works North's case from the moment her family is savagely killed to when she's accused of slaughtering those behind her family's deaths.
"What was appealing to me about this project was that it was a genre that I hadn't done before," Ortiz said. "It has lots of action, a lot of emotion, in an urban setting. There was something about the fast-paced nature of it all that made me just want to jump in."
Raba, who played head of the Medellin Cartel in the third season of Narcos, plays Diego Garcia, the drug boss who ordered the murder or Riley's family.
Garcia will learn why you never mess with a mom and a wife. She's dead set on teaching him a lesson, even if that means she'll have to get through many of his men to attempt it.
Peppermint opens in theaters on September 7th.
