It’s confirmed! Spanish actor Javier Bardem will play the villain in the new James Bond movie, Bond 23. How did we find out? According to EOnline, Bardem spilled the frijoles himself in an interview on ABC’s Nightline. We previously reported that Bardem had been confirmed for the role, but there was still much speculation until the Oscar-winning actor confirmed the news himself.
Journalist Christiane Amanpour asked Bardem about his habit of playing villains (remember his role as killer Anton Chigurh in 2007’s No Country for Old Men?). “I am very excited,” he said of his new role. “My parents took me to watch the movies and I saw all of them. So to play that is going to be fun. They chose me to play this man, but I cannot give you many details.”
