Jennifer Lopez has signed on to star in a new romantic comedy entitled Plan B. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the rom-com, written by Kate Angelo, is one of the first projects to get a green light from CBS Films. The story centers around a woman who uses artificial insemination to conceive twins (Plan B) only
to meet Mr. Right (or Plan A) on the very same
CBS Films honcho Amy Baer noted that the fact that J. Lo recently gave birth to twins of her own should bring an added dimension to the role. Um, you think? Following the rampant rumors swirling of in vitro fertilization and the supposed difficulties La Lopez and Anthony had conceiving, we think fans will be very intrigued to see how the topic is handled in the film. J. Lo has since denied that she and Marc had any troubles getting pregnant and has said that twins run in her family.
Baer also said the new film will give Lopez a chance to get back into romantic comedy, a genre in which she has always preformed strongly. Lopez has a number of comedy hits under her belt already, including Maid in Manhattan and Monster-in-Law. Jennifer had taken a hiatus from acting to give birth to her kids and focus on her music career but has recently begun filming again for the heist picture The Governess, due out December, 2009.
