Arnold Schwarzenegger promised he’d “be back” in 2003 and at long last he has kept his promise ten years later. The veteran action star, who took time off from toraise a family and serve as the Governor of California for two terms, takes on his first leading role in the Lionsgate release, The Last Stand. But don’t expect Arnold to pick up where he left off all those years ago while filming the Terminator series.
He is older and the film uses that to set-up some pretty amazing-yet-believable action sequences with co-stars Eduardo Noriega and Genesis Rodriguez as well as some hilarious comedic banter with co-stars Forest Whitaker, Johnny Knoxville, Rodrigo Santoro, and Luis Guzman.
The Last Stand follows Sheriff Ray Owens (Schwarzenegger), a former member of the LAPD who moves away and takes on sheriff duties in small town Sommerton Junction. The relatively quiet town is disrupted when news hits that escaped drug king pin Gabriel Cortez (Noriega) plans to use a bridge in Sommerton to reach the Mexican border.
Can Sheriff Owens and his team get to the bad guy before he is able to cross the border? What adventures will his team find along the way?
I caught up with Genesis Rodriguez during a recent press trip to Miami to get you the scoop! The Last Stand is in theaters now.
