After receiving adoring reviews from critics and plenty of Oscar buzz, Miss Bala was dropped from the prestigious 2012 Academy Award nominations list. The film, directed by Gerardo Naranjo, depicts the gripping story about an aspiring pageant queen, played by Stephanie Sigman, who becomes involved in Mexico’s drug cartel. The independent flick was a favorite at last year’s Toronto Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, and The New York Film Festival.
We got a chance to speak exclusively to lead actress, Sigman who weighs in on what makes this film so special. "It's a movie that has never been done before - in this perspective. I think that's what makes Miss Bala so unique," she says.
