Demi Lovato is getting the animated treatment.
The 24-year-old is taking on a new role as the voice of Smurfette in the Smurfs: The Lost Village. The movie starts with a mysterious map that sets Smurfette and her best friends on a race through the Forbidden Forest to find the lost village. Sofia Vergara's hubby, Joe Manganiello, is voicing Hefty and Michelle Rodriguez is voicing SmurbStorm.
"I was able to put a lot of myself into the character. She’s a strong female lead, and I’d like to consider a strong woman, so being able to put that into the character was easy and comfortable," Lovato told Collider.
Lovato is used to being on the small screen but this is the first time she's lending her voice to an animated character.
"It was a different experience for me, and I loved it. It was fun to be apart of an animated film that is still iconic and I loved it, it was really cool," she went on to say.
