Nestor Carbonell – Gotham City’s Mayor – Dark Knight Rises
Cuban-American actor and Harvard University grad, Nestor Carbonell, is back as Gotham City’s Major Anthony Garcia for the upcoming installment of the hit Batman franchise, The Dark Knight Rises, directed by Christopher Nolan. He may be struggling to hold the city together, but we love seeing the Latino in action nonetheless.
Jessica Alba – Sue Storm - Fantastic Four
There’s no doubt, Jessica Alba can kick some serious butt and look amazing while doing it. The Mexican actress has never shied away from playing fierce female characters on-screen, including her role as Sue Storm in the hit Fantastic Four flick. Apparently she also found love behind the set with now-husband and film assitant, Cash Warren. This superhero has it all!
Zoe Saldana - Neytiri - Avatar
The Dominican actress’ movie career catapulted after her role as the playing-no-games princess Neytiri in James Cameron’s hit blockbuster, Avatar. She exclusively told Latina during her cover story interview last year, “The year after Avatar was just emotionally overwhelming. I was traveling all over the world, waking up in different time zones. “ She adds, “Your body gets exhausted, and by the end of the year I just collapsed.” Recovering after that seems like a real superhero feat!
Alexa Vega – Carmen Cortez - Spy Kids
Carmen Cortez, played by Alexa Vega, went from a bratty bed wetter to a brave fighter willing to stop villains from world domination. The best part was watching the Colombian actress grow up and mature right before our eyes!
Alred Molina – Doc Ock – Spiderman 2
Who can forget the Spanish actor’s tragic role as Dr. Otto Octavius (a.k.a. Doc Ock) in the hit 2004 Spiderman sequel? He made us want the power of the sun…until things went haywire!
