Blanco was a drug lord of the Medellín Cartel, who pioneered the drug trade in Miami during the 1970s. Known for her ruthless killings, the Colombian kingpin earned the name "Black Widow" after killing her husband, Alberto Bravo

With successful series like Narcos, which chronicles the rise and fall of cartels, it's not surprising other networks are releasing their own drug-themed movies and TV shows. But what caught everyone by surprised about Lifetime's Cocaine Godmother was that a non-Latina playing the role of Blanco. Acadamy Award-winning actress, Catherine Zeta-Jones, joined the film based on the life of Blanco.

Though the mother-of-two has had experience playing the role of a drug kingpin in her 2000 film "Traffic," many took to Twitter to voice their disappointment over the network casting the Welsh actress and not a Latina.
