Cameron Diaz may be shacked up with her real-life boyfriend, but when it comes to movies, she's always single and ready to mingle. The actress is in final negotiations to take the lead role in Swingles, a new romantic comedy by Paramount that's being pitched as a new millennium take on When Harry Met Sally, according to the The Hollywood Reporter. What makes Swingles so young, hip and fresh? The title, of course—a witty merging of the words "single" and "wingman." You know how the kids love to combine words these days!

In the film, Diaz will play a non-committed gal whose best girlfriend falls in love. The BFF's new man happens to have a single friend of his own, and he and Diaz team up to help each other find lifemates. No word on how the movie ends, but we're going to take a longshot guess that they end up with each other. Just call it a hunch.

According to sources, the role of Cam's man-friend is still up for grabs. Anything would be an improvement over her last rom-com partnership (with Ashton Kutcher in What Happens in Vegas), but may we suggest someone a little cuter and less obnoxious? Say...Paul Rudd?

Who would you like to see as Cameron Diaz's next co-star?
