Cameron Diaz Says No to "The Sound of Music" and Yes to "Charlie's Angels 3"

We dodged a bullet here, folks! Looks like we will not be subjected to Cameron Diaz's reprisal of the role Julie Andrews made famous in the classic film The Sound of Music. The film and stage legend let it be known that she would love to see Diaz resurrect the role of Maria in the speculated remake of The Sound of Music. But Cameron politely declined when asked about taking on the role: "I don't know if I would do it, because that is one of those awe-striking moments. Julie is amazing and I don't know if I could follow an act like that." Diaz also added that she was "very flattered that she even said that."

A project that Diaz is definitely on board for? A third installment of the über-popular Charlie’s Angels franchise! Diaz said that she would be super-excited to reprise her role of Natalie Cook. The star confesses, "I would love to do it. It’s just a matter of us getting off our butts and doing it." It would be awesome if Cameron and the rest of the Angels got back in action! And we admire (and thank) Diaz for stepping back, eating some humble pie and sparing the world an off-pitch rendition of "Do-Re-Mi."
