Benicio del Toro has played an ex-con in 21 Grams, a revolutionary in Che, and a drug lord in Traffic. The Oscar-winning actor, who has made a career out of playing murderers and thieves, will be adding to his credits a ruthless mobster named Roy Demeo in the upcoming biopic,  The Icemean.

Del Toro will be joining an all-star cast that includes Oscar-nominated actor Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road), who will play the role of a real-life hitman named Richard Kukliski, who was known for freezing the remains of his victims. Meanwhile, James Franco (127 Hours) also stars as a fellow contract killer named Mr. Softee (not to be confused with the man from the ice-cream truck).

The Iceman is based on Anthony Bruno's book, The Iceman: The True Story of a Cold-Blooded Killer, as well as the Jim Thebaut's documentary The Iceman Tapes: Conversations with a Killer.
