Antonio Banderas Joins the Cast of Director Woody Allen's New Film

Does Woody Allen have a thing for Spanish heartthrobs? The Hollywood Reporter says that the legendary director has handpicked Antonio Banderas to co-star in his next movie, an as-yet-untitled project that starts shooting in London this summer.

Allen, who commenced his love affair with Spaniard sex symbols last year with the casting of Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, will also direct Slumdog Millionaire ingenue Freida Pinto in the film, along with Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins. Judging by this roster alone, we can't wait to see it!

Though no plot details about the film have been revealed, it's bound to be a change of pace for Banderas, whose most recent movie credits include the sappy dance movie Take the Lead and about 50 Shrek sequels.

Are you looking forward to hearing Banderas deliver Allen's acerbic dialogue with a castellano accent like Bardem and Cruz?
